INDIANA JONES AND THE GREAT CIRCLE will be a new frontier in adventure games

Indiana Jones is back and this time he embarks on an adventure like never before. In the next video game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, players will take on the role of the iconic archaeologist in a first-person action-adventure experience that promises to redefine how we explore the world of Indiana Jones. One of the most interesting features of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle it’s firsthand experience. This decision sets the game apart from other action-adventure titles like Unexplored OR tomb Raider. In an interview with Lucasfilm, Jerk Gustafsson, the game director, explained the logic behind this choice. “First-person gameplay is part of MachineGames’ DNA, and we wanted to see how we could use it to create a truly immersive experience by putting yourself in the shoes of the world’s most famous archaeologist.”

Gustafsson further elaborated on the unique approach, stating, “It also separates our game from many other action-adventure titles, making it a unique experience that you can’t find anywhere else. We still want to showcase Indy as much as possible, so we have a seamless flow between first-person gameplay and third-person actions, events and cutscenes.” This combination of perspectives promises to give players a deeper connection to Indiana Jones’ adventures and a new way to experience his world.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set in 1937, about a year after the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and before The Last Crusade. In this game, Indy faces a new challenge; he has separated from Marion and, in Gustafsson’s words, “since then he has been lost again. He is adrift”. This period of uncertainty in Indy’s life sets the stage for an exciting and mysterious adventure.

The game’s synopsis reads: “Uncover one of history’s greatest mysteries in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a first-person single-player adventure set between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Last Crusade. Forces sinister forces are scouring the globe.” for the secret of an ancient power connected to the Great Circle, and only one person can stop them: Indiana Jones.”

As players follow Indy on his quest, they will immerse themselves in a story full of intrigue, ancient artifacts and treacherous enemies. The game will also contain many puzzles, but many of them will be optional and off the beaten path.

Gustafsson wants The Great Circle feeling like players are in the middle of a long-lost Indy movie from the 1980s.
