Christopher Reeve’s son reveals the movie his father was most proud of and that wasn’t SUPERMAN

Christopher Reeve he is best known for playing Clark Kent aka Superman, but has also appeared in many other films throughout his career. One would assume that of all the films Reeves has starred in, Superman would be his favorite moment or one that he is most proud of. But his second son Will is not like that.

During an interview with VarietyWill was asked which role of his father was the most underrated following his career dominated by SupermanWill shared:

“In our hometown in Bedford, New York… the local movie theater went through a rebranding a few years ago,” Will said. “The person in charge of that shift contacted me and said he would like it if I screened a film of my choice, by my father. I said, “Sure, but not Superman.” We’ll do Remains of the Day. He was so proud of his role in that movie. It’s not a big role. It’s an important role in the film. He got to show a completely different side of himself. I knew how proud he was of it. Not that he wasn’t proud of Superman… but if he were here he wouldn’t have chosen Superman, he would have chosen The Remains of the Day. I don’t think about the Superman movies so much as the changes he’s had beyond this larger-than-life role.”

I know a lot of people who haven’t seen Remains of the Day, so if you’re one of them and you’re a fan of Reeve, this is a movie worth watching. I never would have thought that this was his proudest moment as a director, but it’s nice to know.

Reeve’s children were also asked what they thought of Reeve’s CGI appearance as Superman in last year’s DC film. The flash. They said none of them had ever seen The Flash, and they also had no involvement in making that cameo.
