OCEAN’S ELEVEN director Steven Soderbergh has turned down an offer to return to the franchise

I’m a huge fan of the Ocean’s film trilogy Steven Soderbergh direct. The first film she made, however, was the best! While we wait for the next film in the series, which will feature the protagonist Margot Robbie AND Ryan Goslingwe learned that Soderbergh was given the opportunity to return to the franchise, but ended up turning it down.

Soderbergh explained in an interview with Variety: “After making the third film, I felt that the series was over for me. When the studio contacted me to see if I would be involved in continuing the franchise, I told them no .” , because it just doesn’t seem like a step forward to me. I’m chasing something else. “

I understand that, and I don’t blame him for wanting to abandon the franchise to develop different projects. He did some fun things with those first three movies and got that story and those characters out of his system.

However, star of the franchise George Clooney teased his return in a possible Ocean’s Fourteen film. Clooney recently joked: “We have a really good script for another one Of the ocean now, so we might end up doing another one. It’s actually a fantastic script. When asked if the script was about potential Ocean 14Clooney responded: “Well… I don’t want to call it that… I mean, the idea is kind of like Go in style. Yes. George Burns and [Art] Carney, yes. We’re not that old.”

If that movie actually comes to fruition, maybe Clooney will be the one to step behind the camera to direct it! He recently directed the film The boys on the boatthat was a great movie!

As for the next film in the series, the film will have a title Oceansand Robbie and Gosling will play Danny (Clooney) and Debbie (Sandra Bullock) mother and father in the story. The film will be set in 1960s Europe and in the same universe as Soderbergh’s. Of the ocean franchising.

Executive producer Josey McNamara he previously offered an update on the project, saying, “They are wonderful together. It would be great to have more projects outside of this too. I can’t really say much, but I think we’re just trying to do the franchise right. I’m excited for people to experience it when it’s ready.”

The film will be directed by Jay Roach, who previously directed Robbie in the film Bombshell. She previously said: “There were some questions at first about whether it would be weird to have (Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling) back together after Barbie. But I think there are just a few pairings that you’ll want to see again and again. It’s such a powerful, powerful duo, you know? And it is and the suspense of the will that come together; will they trust each other enough to team up? It’s romantic.”

Roach also said of Robbie’s casting: “Margot pitched it to me as a sort of old-fashioned epic love adventure masquerading as a heist. It’s still a heist movie, but it’s above all a love story. And we were both inspired by Hitchcock, To catch a thief but also Known. It just wants to be a great, great, you know, cinematic spectacle.

The film’s screenplay was written by Carrie Solomon.
