These seem like two fan-favorite characters from Netflix and Marvel Reckless the series could return Daredevil: Born Again After all. According to entertainment insider, Jeff Sneider, Deborah Ann Woll AND Elden Henson they will reportedly reprise their roles as Foggy Nelson and Karen Page in the upcoming Marvel series.
There are no details on how important their roles will be in the series, all we know is that they will return in some capacity. This new information hasn’t been confirmed by Marvel, but I hope it’s true! It was previously reported that they wouldn’t be returning, which was a bit disappointing.
It seems like perhaps the new creative team working on retooling the series is making some smart decisions. They played a significant role in the Netflix original series and it makes complete sense that they would be involved in the next Daredevil series.
Woll previously spoke about how much she loved playing Karen Page and the character’s future, saying:
“Look, playing Karen Page has been one of the most important roles of my career so far. I have enormous love and respect for her, for myself, for the story that we created together. I think that any performance of Karen that comes back, if she comes back, if it’s me, if it’s not me, if it’s in the comics, if it’s in 50 years, whatever it is, I just hope you continue to honor her. May you never just be the sidekick.
“You may not see Karen Page’s story, but she’s making a whole TV show by herself that no one filmed. Make sure that, for our characters, who aren’t superheroes or aren’t main fighters in that sense, that we just continue to honor the fact that they have full lives. That’s what I really appreciated about my time playing Karen Page, and I hope that if I were to do it again or if it continues, people would care as much about her.
“I’m so proud. I really am. I loved working on her so much, and she’s a really great person. I miss her.”
As for what Marvel might be planning for the show, it was previously reported – SPOILER ALERT – that the show might begin with the death of Henson’s Foggy Nelson. Some rumors claimed that Karen would also get caught in the crossfire, while others said that she didn’t appear at all. It would be a shame if this was how the characters were handled in the series.
Daredevil: Born Again is currently under development by the administrators Justin Benson AND Aaron Moorheadwho worked on both Moon Knight and Loki. Dario Scardapanewho worked on Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and Netflix’s Marvel show The Punisher, is the series’ showrunner.
Charlie Cox he will return to the role of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in the series, and will be joined by him Vincenzo D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk. Also includes Michele Gandolfini, Margherita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michele Gaston, Arty FroushanAND Clark Johnson in undeclared roles.
