Alex Winter says the script for BILL & TED 4 is being written

If you were hoping to see a fourth Bill and Ted movie, you’ll be happy to learn that franchise writers Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson are currently working on the script for Bill & Ted 4!

This news came from the star of the franchise Alex Winter during an interview with The Sarah O’Connell Show. Winter revealed that Solomon and Matheson are currently working on an idea, and once the script is complete, Winter and Keanu Reeves he’ll start looking around at it.

Winter said, “We’re tinkering with the idea of ​​a fourth movie that we all like, and the guys will write, so we’ll see. It takes time to get these things going, and we never want to do them.” unless they’re great.”

Winter went on to say that the film will only be made if he, Reeves, Solomon and Matheson are all satisfied with the script. He also explained that they have a great idea for the next chapter in Bill and Ted’s story:

“They feel the same way, it must be right. We love [the Bill & Ted movies] because they are quirky and not your typical mainstream films. They were never for-profit films; no one got rich thanks to the Bill and Ted series. We really make them sincerely from a place of love and concern. There’s a really good idea that the writers had for a quarter, which is pretty obvious. I don’t want to reveal it – I can’t reveal it because I would be drawn and quartered – but it’s a really good idea, an obvious idea. It will be written and we’ll see if we can actually make it happen.”

So it’s exciting! I honestly thought there would be a possibility of a fourth movie after that Bill and Ted: Face the music. I thought it would be the last film in the saga, but apparently that’s not the case, and that makes me happy! The world could use a little more Bill and Ted these days!
