Giulia Garner will star in Blumhouse and Universal’s Monster The Wolf Manwhere it comes from Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell.
Ryan Gosling he was originally supposed to star in the film, but dropped out and was replaced by Christopher Abbottwho recently appeared in the film Poor things. Abbot and Garner previously appeared together in the 2011 film Martha, Marcy, May, Marlene.
The film’s screenplay was written by Whannell and Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum AND Rebecca Angelothe latter duo had already written the dramatic comedy, Stupid money. Gosling is still with the group as executive producer Jason Blum. It is unknown who Garner will play in the film.
I love the original 1941 film, directed by George Wagner. The film tells the story of Larry Talbot, played by Lon Chaney Jr., who returns to his ancestral home in Wales after his brother’s death. During a fateful encounter with a wolf-like creature, Larry is bitten and cursed with lycanthropy, transforming into a werewolf when the full moon rises. As he struggles to control his deadly transformation, Larry becomes a threat to the villagers.
The film will be released via Universal on Friday, October 25, 2024.
