Gentleman Patrick Stewart recently reflected on his return to the role of Professor Sam Raimi’S Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and explained why it was a “frustrating and disappointing” experience for him. The actor also teased his role Deadpool 3.
It was a lot of fun seeing Stewart back as Professor X in the Doctor Strange sequel, but the way it ended for him was completely unexpected! He played the version of Professor X-Men: The Animated Series and was a member of the Earth-838 Illuminati. He was brutally murdered by Scarlet Witch, who broke his neck.
It was both fascinating and disappointing to see Professor X and the other Illuminati members killed so easily. But that wasn’t why Stewart was frustrated, it was his experience shooting the whole thing. During a recent interview with Josh Horowitz, Stewart revealed how he shot his cameo:
“I was alone. I think in the big scene, each of the main actors had the same experience. They were shot on their own.”
Stewart then pointed to the pandemic as the reason for this and said the process had been “frustrating and disappointing.” He added: “It’s been like that…the last few years have been challenging.”
Yep, that doesn’t sound like a pleasant shooting experience at all! How strange is it that the actors shot the entire movie sequence separately, alone?!
Stewart goes on to confirm his return to the role Deadpool 3 saying, “I now have full confidence that he is still around. [Deadpool 3] it came out. There was a trial.”
It will be interesting to see how Professor X is handled Deadpool 3. It’s so funny as Stewart and Hugh Jackman both said they would retire from their Marvel roles afterward Loganand now I’m back in action!
