EXCLUSIVE: Carly Hoogendyk has joined Omnipop Talent Group, the New York-headquartered management and production company known for its work with multi-hyphenated comedic talent, as talent manager. She will be based in the firm’s West Coast office, where she will join partners Bruce Smith and Zack Freedman.
Hoogendyk developed her flair for identifying emerging comedic talent as editor of the Cramer Comedy Newsletter, a trade directory highlighting emerging comedic work in live, digital, film and animation. As a manager, she works with stand-ups, writers and actors. Her clients at Omnipop include Tallie Medel (Everything everywhere at the same time), Addison Anderson (Stephen Colbert hosts Tooning Out the News) and Cody Wilkins (call me cat).
Also an independent live comedy producer, Hoogendyk began her career in digital marketing before working as a comedy booker at Caveat during her freshman year of college on New York’s Lower East Side. She joined Authentic Talent & Literary Management in 2019 as a coordinator in the comedy department before moving to Artists First as a manager in 2021. Hoogendyk currently produces “Cherry,” a weekly comedy show at the Public Hotel’s ArtSpace hosted by Moss Perricone, August White and SNLChloe Troast, the newest member of the series.
Smith founded Omnipop Talent Group in Los Angeles in 1990. Freedman joined as a manager in 2013 and became a full partner three years later. The company’s famous clients include Maria Bamford (Lady Dynamite), Joel Kim Booster (Fire Island), Oscar Nunez (The office), Doug Jones (Star Trek: Discovery), Kuiper Barnes (Henry Danger), Andy Kindler(Bob’s Burgers), Matthew Patrick Davis (Barbarian), Ashleigh Hairston (Craig van de Kreek), Guy Branum (Cap), Jessica McKenna & Zach Reino (Bowl) and Scott Thompson (FUBAR), to name a few.
