The Golden Mask trophy has found a new home. Ne Yo It was called The Masked Singer Season 10 winner during the epic finale event on December 20th. Ne-Yo has dazzled fans week after week in the cow costume, and now he reigns as the supreme champion. Hollywood life spoke exclusively to the singer about his masked singer victory.
“I’ve been a fan of the show since the beginning,” the 44-year-old said. “I must say that I am definitely happy with the company I have. The Masked Singer winner. It means a lot. I dug out some Grammys and made room for the trophy at my mom’s house, in the closet that keeps all my hits. All the Grammys are here, but we still make room for them. It is very rare to find something that three generations of a family can enjoy together. “My kids, my mom, my grandparents, they can all sit together and watch the show.”
He added: “As a songwriter, for me there’s a bit of excitement about stepping outside of myself and being someone else for a minute. That million percent contributed to that joy and kind of revitalized some of that joy for me, because I can honestly say that the music industry will feel some of that joy if they allow it, so thank you everyone. The Masked Singer for refreshing that energy and reminding me why I became a singer-songwriter in the first place.

Throughout season 10, Ne-Yo was disguised in the Big Bad Cow costume. “We specifically chose the female cow because my voice is distinctive,” he noted. “I thought that because I was a male, they could get me quicker than a female. I was a very busty woman with a huge bra and all that padding and padded hips, which made it difficult to dance and move like I normally would. This worked in my favor because it helped me get rid of it even more.
Dancing covered in a head-to-toe cow costume was uncharted territory for the “Because of You” singer. “First of all, I easily lost about 20 pounds wearing the costume because I wasn’t breathing at all,” Ne-Yo admitted. “I’m under all that padding and I’m sweaty. It was crazy. They were waiting with the fans. Every time they cut it or broke it they ran away with the fans because they knew I was there to die.”
He continued: “And then, right where the lips of the cow’s head were, where my eyes were. Basically I couldn’t see much. It was very, very difficult to see, which made it much more difficult to go up and down the steps, which some performances required. In fact, there were a few times I stumbled. I don’t know if they changed it.”

While The Masked Singer It was certainly “a challenge,” with Ne-Yo saying he “absolutely enjoyed this whole experience.” He joked: “I look great under my clothes now.”
During the finale, Ne-Yo delivered sensational performances of “Rhythm Nation” by Janet Jackson and “Take a Bow” from Rihanna. Looking back, Ne-Yo called each of his performances “a masterpiece” because of all the work he put in on and off stage.
However, one performance stands out. Your interpretation of Anita Ward “Ring My Bell” during the disco evening. “It’s still one of mom’s favorite songs,” Ne-Yo said. Hollywood life. “I grew up in a house with my mother, sister, grandmother and 5 aunts. I sincerely remember, as a child, seeing my mother and aunt dancing in the kitchen to this particular song. When the producers brought me that song, I thought, ‘Yeah, let’s definitely do that.’ This is this. I have to dedicate it to them.’” The Masked Singer will return for season 11 in spring 2024.
