George Clooney says there are “not enough drugs in the world” to convince him to play Batman again

George Clooney recently made headlines with his opinion on the possibility of reprising the role of Batman again. At the premiere of his latest directorial endeavor, The boys on the boatClooney shared some witty quips about his previous stint as the Caped Crusader in the infamous 1997 film Batman and Robin.

Clooney’s portrayal of Batman in Batman and Robin was met with mixed reviews, to put it mildly. The film, directed by Joel Schumacher, is often remembered for its ridiculous campy tone, over-the-top costumes, and the infamous “rubber nipples” on Clooney’s Batman costume. Critical reception has been less than ideal, and Clooney himself has openly expressed his dissatisfaction with the project over the years.

When Entertainment Tonight asked Clooney to return to play Bruce Wayne The flashhe joked:

“Well, I thought… there was such a hype for me to come back as Batman… there was such a hype. I actually said, “Where are my rubber nipples?” And they were like, “Can we do this without the rubber nipples?” I thought, ‘Well, he’s not really my Batman, is he?'”

When asked if he would consider donning the cape and cowl again, Clooney stood firm in his decision and hilariously said:

“I don’t think there are enough drugs in the world to make me go back.”

It’s clear that Clooney doesn’t take himself too seriously and can laugh at the missteps of his past superhero experience, and it’s fun to see him make light of the situation.

Clooney sees his portrayal of Batman as a chapter in his career that he’s happy to leave behind.
