Charlie Hunnam was offered the role of Green Arrow in Zack Snyder’s DCEU, but turned it down

Sons of anarchy AND Rebel moon star Charlie Hunnam He was once offered the opportunity to play Oliver Queen/Green Arrow Zack SnyderDCEU. Hunnam turned down the opportunity to play the superhero after looking at an image of the character.

He spoke about the experience during an interview with CB, revealing that he never met Snyder about it, but someone offered him the role:

“I never talked to Zack about it. I honestly don’t remember who. It was some people in suits who brought the idea to me and they thought it would be terribly exciting for me to play Green Arrow and I didn’t share their enthusiasm.”

He went on to say that he didn’t even know who Green Arrow was:

“I don’t know who Green Arrow is so I don’t want to offend anyone. I looked at a photo and thought, “I’m not sure green is my color and I’m pretty sure spandex isn’t my material.” On top of that, I thought, with a picture, ‘Thanks, I don’t care.’”

Yes, I can understand why “the suits” would want Hunnam to play Green Arrow, but that’s obviously something he didn’t click on. I wonder if anyone ever talked to Snyder about expanding the DCEU with the addition of Green Arrow. Probably not, though.

It’s probably for the best that he didn’t play the role of Green Arrow and that the movie wasn’t made. Anyway, what do you think of Hunnam as Green Arrow?
