Here is a collection of new posters from Duna: second part and highlight the main characters of this second chapter of the story. Character posters include Timothée Chalamet like Paul Atreides, Zendaya like Chani, Rebecca Ferguson in the role of Lady Jessica, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Austin Butler in the role of Feyd-Rautha, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Dave Battista as the Beast Rabban, Léa Seydoux in the role of Lady Margot, Stellan Skarsgård like The Baron, and Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV.
Dune is a mythical and emotionally charged hero’s journey and tells the story of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), “a brilliant and gifted young man born with a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to secure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence – a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential – only those who can conquer their fear will survive.”
The next chapter of the story will explore the “mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he joins Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of vengeance against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Faced with the choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he attempts to prevent a terrible future that only he can predict.”
Villeneuve had already spoken about the film, saying that he wanted it to have a lot of heart and that he wanted to make a very human film. He explained: “I wanted to make a very human film, very close to the characters, despite the scope of the film. I kept telling my crew, “The most important thing is that spark, that relationship between these two characters.” If we don’t capture it, if we don’t have it on the screen, there won’t be a movie. The epicenter of the story is this relationship.”
Villeneuve is currently developing a third film titled Dune Messiah, which will be his final film in the series.
The film will now be released in theaters on March 1, 2024.
