Tom Holland takes on Spider-Man and says the fourth film has been discussed, but no decisions have been made yet

Tom Holland has an explanation for why there won’t be a sequel to his blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home appeared.

Holland said during a press conference with the Critics Choice Association that there was no compelling story idea yet.

“All I can say is that we’ve been actively talking about what a fourth portrayal of my character might look like,” he said. “Whether we can find a way to do justice to the character is another question. I feel very protective of Spider-Man. I’m very fortunate that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with every movie, that got more successful with every movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect its legacy. So I’m not going to make another one just for the sake of another one. It has to be worth it for the character.

If a great story comes out and the film gets the green light, the Netherlands is ready to get back on track.

“But if we could figure it out, I’d be a fool not to put the suit back on because I owe everything to Spider-Man. I like the character and the people I get to work with. So I’d like to tell a different story, but I’ll only tell it if we get the right one.”
