This promotional art created for George Miller’S Mad Max: Furious offers us our first glimpse Anya Taylor-Gioia, in the role of Furiosa. This is a really badass character and I have no doubt that Joy will be badass in the role.
In the film, “As the world fell apart, young Furiosa is kidnapped from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a large horde of bikers led by Warlord Dementus. Traveling through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe As the two Tyrants battle for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she marshals the means to find her way home.
Speaking previously about the film, Joy said that Miller considers this new film an epic, and explains why, saying: “The main thing George and I talked about is that Fury Road is a road movie. You know, it’s set” I think, three days: get somewhere, then turn around and go back. And this is an epic. It takes place over a long period of time and you kind of get to know it [Furiosa] it’s better that way. I love that character so much. The whole experience was stunning and George is the best. I hope [people] have fun.”
Chris Hemsworth takes on the role of the evil warlord Dementus, and looked unrecognizable on set as he sports long hair, a prosthetic nose and a beard. The rest of the cast includes Tom Burke, Angus Sampson, Nathan Jones, Daniel Webber, Lachy HulmeAND Quaden Bayles.
The images were taken at the Furiosa booth at the upcoming CCXP convention. Mad Max: Furious will be released in theaters on May 24, 2024.
