Sony’s SILK: SPIDER SOCIETY series has been discontinued

The next project in Sony’s Marvel series Silk: Spider Society he has reportedly been suspended. This is a series that I’m really excited about because Silk is an amazing Spider-Man and it’s produced by Phil Lord AND Chris Miller.

According to a report from The Ankler, Amazon Studios is being threatened with lawsuits, after the studio continued to put shows “on ice” following the end of the Writers Guild of America strike earlier this fall. Silk: Spider Society it’s said to be one of several shows the studio has continued to pause work on. There may also be other behind-the-scenes issues with the project, but it will get done eventually.

A previous report from TVLine stated that the live-action Silk series was definitely still in the works. It was developed by Walking Dead‘S Angela Kang who is ready to write, produce and show Silk: Spider Society. There are currently no casting details and no release date either.

Silk: Spider Society The series will tell the story if it follows Cindy Moon, who was previously described in casting descriptions for the series as a 19- to 29-year-old Korean-American kid from Queens who is on her own for the first time. Although she is a complete beginner in law enforcement and crime fighting, she is said to love the feeling of beating up criminals to vent her frustrations and she has an affinity for 80s pop culture and ’90. She also struggles with her identity and her heritage, but tries to focus on her family, her friends and her relationships.

From Amazon Catherine Pope she previously said in an interview: “It’s definitely a big goal for all of us here, and for me in particular. I was already a fan of Angela Kang, so I’m really, really excited to work with her on Silk. She’s just brilliant and a total professional. This is also an example of working closely with Tom Rothman and Sanford Panitch and the film crew, to make sure we are in step with them and also working on the same level. he did an incredible job with that franchise, so we want to make sure we perform at that level.”

Lord and Miller had also previously said in a joint statement: “We are very grateful to everyone at Sony Pictures Television for choosing to partner with us and expand our long-standing relationship with the studio. Together we aim to make innovative work of the highest quality and integrity.” , and to place that work in convenient proximity to your eyes and ears, wherever you are.”

I have high hopes for this Sill series and hope the creative team makes a great story and a great show!
