Daisy Ridley shared some thoughts on her next one war of stars film in which she will reprise her role as Rey.
Speaking to Collider, Ridley told the publication that she was very nervous when she appeared at the Star Wars Celebration in London in April, where it was announced that she would star in the new film, the first since its release earlier this year in 2019. The Rise of Skywalker. Ridley said she wasn’t even approached about the role in February 2023, just weeks before the Star Wars event.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s upcoming film written by Peaky Blinders Creator Steven Knight takes place after the events of their previous film in the series, Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, and as she builds a new Jedi order. Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson were previously involved in the project.
“I peed my pants before I went on stage because nobody knew I was going there,” she said. “Nobody knew I was going to the celebration except this one [Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy] and there were some people there. I was so nervous. Oh dear God.”
She added: “It was a wonderful welcome. I am very excited. The story is really cool.“
When asked if she thought the film was the start of a trilogy, she replied that she only knew of one storyline so far.
“I know the plot of a film. That’s not to say that’s all, but that’s what I’ve been told. And I imagine that will be the next film, I think. I mean again, I don’t know how quickly everything will start again after strikes and all that. But yes, so far I know the story of a film and I think people will be very excited.”
