SCREAM reboot star Melissa Barrera will not return for SCREAM 7 after controversial social media posts

It seems He shouted AND Scream VI star Melissa Barrera may not return to the franchise for Scream 7. The news comes from THR, who explains that she was dropped from the franchise after publishing a series of social media posts in the wake of the war between Israel and Hamas.

In an Instagram post, he said: “Gaza is currently being treated like a concentration camp. Putting everyone together with their backs against the wall, with nowhere to go, without electricity, without water… People have learned nothing from our stories. And just like our stories, people are still silently watching it all happen. THIS IS GENOCIDE AND ETHNIC CLEANSING.”

Production has not started Scream VIIand according to the report, the creative team “is expected to recalibrate plans following Barrera.”

The film is directed by Christopher Landonwho previously directed films such as Happy Death Day AND Capricious. When speaking about joining the project, he said: “For me it came out of the blue. From what I understand, there had been conversations going on for a while. But I think it was just an opportunity that really showed up because the other directors who did the project In the last two movies, Tyler and Matt, they wanted to do something else. They were ready to do something different. That’s when they obviously had to find someone new, and I I’ve known Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original movie, for a long, long time and he’s a friend. I think he put my name in the hat and everyone said, “Yeah, that makes sense. It just seems to make sense.’ And I was really excited to get that call because it really felt like, it felt like kismet, it felt like something that was always meant to be.”

There is no information about the writer Scream VIIbut the last two films were written by James Vanderbilt AND Guy Busick. Landon is also a screenwriter, so I’m sure he’ll at least co-write it.

We can still expect to see Jenna Ortega, Freemason GoodingAND Brown Savoy Jasmine go back to the movie. It would also be nice to see Hayden Panettiere also back in action.

Melissa Barrera’s Sam Carpenter was the main member of the franchise’s revival, but that’s obviously going to change. Her character arc was actually headed in an interesting direction as Billy Loomis’ daughter, but we may never see where that journey takes her.
