Ralph Macchio AND Jackie Chan are teaming up to star in a new one Karate Kid film made by Sony Pictures. Macchio is the actor who started it all way back in 1984 and since then the franchise has been revived as the fantastic Cobra Kai series in which he reprized his role. Chan starred in the 2010 remake of the film as a character called Mr. Han. Now, these two characters will share the screen with each other in an all-new story.
Macchio will reprise his role as Daniel LaRusso and Chan will once again take on the role of Mr. Han, the kung fu master who helped Jaden Smith learn martial arts to fend off bullies.
There are no details to share regarding the film’s plot, but it is said that it will “mark a continuation of the mythology of the original franchise.” I guess this movie will come later Cobra Kai the series ends up coming to an end.
The film will be directed by Jonathan Entwistle (The end of the damn world) from a screenplay written by Rob Lieber, with Karen Rosenfelt producing. The film is scheduled for release by Sony Pictures on December 13, 2024.
