Dark Sky Films has released a trailer for an upcoming psychological thriller from New Zealand titled Loop trace. The story follows a boy trying to escape the world as he embarks on a wilderness journey and a four-day hike turns into a nightmare and a fight for survival.
In the film: “Ian, a man on the verge of a nervous breakdown, disappears from the world and goes hiking in the New Zealand wilderness. His efforts to avoid the other hikers are futile and he becomes drawn into their worlds, but he can never shake the incessant feeling of being haunted by someone, or something sinister… As Ian’s paranoia grows grows, the other hikers become wary of him. He is cautious about his past, he never sleeps and his anxiety leads him to make worrying statements. Away from society, Ian begins to question his sanity before launching into a bloody battle for survival.”
It looks like a great movie, and as you’ll see in the trailer, it looks like Ian and the hikers are faced with some kind of dinosaur-like creature. The film will definitely take the audience on a disturbing yet entertaining adventure.
The film comes from the writer and director Thomas Sainsbury, who also plays Ian. He was joined in the film by Hayden J. Weal, Tawanda Manyimo, Kate SimmondsAND Noah Campbell.
Loop Track will be released in select theaters and on VOD on December 1, 2023.
