Hilarious behind-the-scenes story of “Robo Wants an Oreo” ROBOCOP

A hilarious behind the scenes RoboCop The story has been making the rounds online recently, and if you haven’t heard it yet, you’ll love it! The story comes from the recently released documentary series RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCopand you can watch the clip below that tells the story.

The clip features the weapons master Randy E. Moorewho shares a story about the RoboCop star Peter Weller, and how he had a craving for Oreos one day on the movie set. Moore shares:

“I went upstairs and was carrying about eight Oreos in a pile. I would shake hands [Peter] his weapon and I would say, “Peter, the safety is off.” And he wouldn’t take the gun. And he says, “Robo wants an Oreo.” And I looked at him and said, “No.” It’s just you and me, Peter. Robo doesn’t get an Oreo. If PETER wants an Oreo, Peter can have an Oreo.’ And he crawls into the suit, right up to the edge of the railing, and Peter starts yelling, “Robo wants an Oreo!” And the steel mill just echoes.”

Moore then defiantly stuffed the entire stack of Oreos into his mouth when faced with Weller’s request. I can’t help but love that Weller was in character this whole time, and it’s one of those things you wish had been filmed.

The clip ends with Weller sharing his memories of the events of the story, which he doesn’t actually remember. He said agitatedly, “I don’t have a clue about Randy Moore and his fucking Oreos.”

RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop is a four-part Screambox original series that dives deep into the making of Paolo Verhoeventhe iconic classic, RoboCop.
