Marvel Studios is reportedly moving away from the Kang The Conqueror story arc

I think we all knew where things were going at Marvel in regards to Kang The Conquerer after the shit hit the fan Jonathan Majors. They haven’t really talked about it, but according to “MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios” co-author Joanna Robinson, Marvel Studios is actually moving away from Kang The Conqueror’s story arc in the MCU.

Robinson revealed this information on a recent episode of the House of R podcast and confirmed the previous report Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness he is no longer involved in writing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which is one of the two big Avengers films that The Multiverse Saga was leading up to. She explained:

“I heard someone recently…writer Jeff Loveness, who wrote Quantumania, was supposed to write The Kang Dynasty…anyway, it’s confirmed.

“It has been confirmed to me that he no longer works for Marvel. I asked the person why, and they said the reason is that it was all involved in Kang’s storyline and they’ll probably walk away from it.

It makes sense for Marvel to move away from Kang and change the trajectory of the story after everything that happened with Majors. There’s no way they’re going to bring him back to play this character again.

During a previous interview with Loki director Dan DeLeeuw, explained that we haven’t yet seen what he considers the “definitive” version of Kang. He said: “I love all the Kangs, I think Kang is a fantastic character. I don’t know if we’ve seen the definitive Kang yet, in terms of how I imagine the definitive Kang.” [to be]. I think there is still someone who has yet to come out of the shadows.”

If these reports are all true, it looks like we’ll never see the final version of Kang. But another big bad will replace him, we just don’t know who that bad guy will be.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty the release is still scheduled for 2026, but if things change in the story and Kang is no longer involved, we can expect the title to change along with the story.
