The ETERNALS sequel is said to be in the works at Marvel with a story centered around it [Spoiler]

Marvel sequel rumors Eternals 2 have been circulating the internet since the first film came out, but we’ve never heard anything completely set in stone aside from the actors saying they were planning to return for the next chapter of the story. The first film came out two years ago and was a critical bomb for the studio, as the film fell foul of post-pandemic audiences and an unimpressed fan base. But we may have some news on a sequel, as the executives may try to redeem themselves in front of the fans of the Eternals comics tradition.

Keep in mind that these are just rumors for now, but Comic Book reports that reliable industry scooper Daniel Richtman reports that Eternals 2 is currently in development at Marvel Studios. Even more interesting is the statement that Richard Madden he will return as Ikaris!

As you probably remember, the group’s leader revealed himself to be the true villain of the Eternals before realizing that he couldn’t kill any more of his immortal comrades. Ikaris left Earth and seemed to end his life by flying towards the sun, so this makes his return truly amazing!

The report goes on to say that shortly before last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, several Marvel Studios trademark filings were leaked online (most announced as coming during the event). Among them there was Celestials: The End Timessuggesting it may be tied to the larger Multiverse Saga and time travel.
