Starz Greenlights SPARTACUS sequel series SPARTACUS: HOUSE OF ASHUR and Nick Tarabay will return

Starz is officially moving forward with Spartacus sequel series which was developed by the creator of the franchise Steven S. DeKnight (Reckless). She is writing and executive producing the project, which is titled Spartacus: House of Ashur. The series will also see the return of Nick Tarabay who will reprise his role as Ashur.

Spartacus: House of Ashur will be “a roller-coaster, erotic, emotional and revolutionary experience, building on everything that made the original series a colossal success. The series asks the question: What if Ashur, played by fan favorite Nick Tarabay, hadn’t died on Vesuvius at the end of Spartacus: Vengeance? What if he had been given the gladiator school once owned by Batiatus in exchange for his help to the Romans in killing Spartacus and ending the slave rebellion?

DeKnight shared in a statement: “Having the opportunity to return ten years later to a series you loved is such a rare and wonderful opportunity. I couldn’t be more excited to make this next chapter in the Spartacus saga with STARZ, Lionsgate and the incomparable Nick Tarabay.”

Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming at Starz, added: “A decade ago, the groundbreaking original Spartacus captivated viewers around the world, and we’re thrilled to deliver the more compelling, high-octane drama our fervent fans have been waiting for. It’s an honor to collaborate with Steven again as he expands storytelling within this exciting and action-packed universe.”

This has been a successful franchise for Starz in the years since Spartacus: Blood and Sand in 2010. This was followed by the prequel series Spartacus: Gods of the Arena in 2011. This was followed by Spartacus: Revenge AND Spartacus War of the Damnedin 2012 and 2013 respectively.

Are you excited for the next chapter of the franchise? Does this sound like a story you’d be interested in watching?
