Netflix has released a fun trailer for its upcoming sci-fi adventure comedy series. Detective of the dead boys, which made the jump from Max to Netflix earlier this year. The show is based on characters created for DC by the writer Neil Gaiman AND Matt Wagnerbut earlier this year it was reported that it would be moving to Netflix because it didn’t fit with the new direction of Max-DC content led by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Steve Yockey developed the series for television. Yockey also serves as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Beth Schwartz. Greg Berlanti, Jeremy Carver, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman and Gaiman also serve as executive producers on the series. The first episode is directed and produced by Lee Toland Krieger.
The full synopsis reads:
“Do you have an annoying ghost haunting you? Has a demon stolen your deepest memories? Maybe you should call the Dead Boy detectives. Meet Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), “the brains” and “brawn” behind the Dead Boy Detectives agency. Teenagers born decades apart who find each other only in death, Edwin and Charles are best friends and ghosts… who solve mysteries. They will do anything to stay together, including escaping evil witches, Hell and Death itself. With the help of a clairvoyant named Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and her friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura), they are able to solve some of the most mysterious paranormal cases in the mortal realm.
The cast of the series also includes Jenn Lyon, Briana Cuoco, Ruth Connell, Luca GageAND Davide Iacono. This looks like it’s going to be a really fun series to watch! Check out the trailer below and keep an eye out for the show’s 2024 release date.
