Japanese amusement park ride designer Sansei Technologies has unveiled a sci-fi fantasy come to life in real life, the SR-02, a giant walking quadruped robot capable of carrying four passengers. With its striking appearance and resemblance to something straight out of a sci-fi anime.
The SR-02 stands 7 feet tall and extends to 12 feet long. It uses Asratec’s V-Sido robot control system for movement and guidance, making it a sophisticated and technologically advanced amusement park attraction.
While the SR-02 looks great with its sci-fi aesthetic, you might wonder how it will fit into existing amusement parks. It’s not the fastest means of transportation because it’s super slow. So, it doesn’t really seem like an efficient people mover. It seems more likely that this is a ride designed for the pure joy of riding just for the experience because it’s not practical at all. It would be much cooler if this thing could run around!
While it may not be the most practical mode of transportation, it can offer an experience for those eager to immerse themselves in a real-world anime-like sci-fi adventure.
