As we told you on Wednesday, Disney/Marvel’s Deadpool 3 is leaving its summer release date of May 3, 2024, leaving the season without a kick-off film for now. The Shawn Levy-directed film, which is back in production, will take over Captain America: Brave New WorldIssue date is 26 July next year.
But “Captain America” won’t open this summer — it’s been pushed back to February 14, 2025. We’ve heard Captain America was in better shape then deadpool3, the last 50% done, and that Brave new world would cancel the summer. No, it doesn’t happen. Happy Valentine’s Day, Cap fans.
To make room, Disney moved the Marvel Studios studios. Sheet from 14 February 2025 to 7 November this year.
Wonder strike lightning, which did not even go into production due to the double strikes, will now run from December 20, 2024 to July 25, 2025.
Further steps from Disney include: Mufasa: The Lion King Continuation extends from 5 July to 20 December 2024.

Disney also removed two untitled films from its schedule on July 25, 2025 and November 7, 2025.
Today’s moves could pave the way for further changes to the release calendar as other studios vie for positions as SAG-AFTRA members prepare to return to work. Sony, which controls the rights to Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, postponed its 2024 spinoff trilogy on Wednesday Poison: Let there be carnage from July 14 to November 8.
