Don’t expect to see much of Daredevil in Marvel’s ECHO series

Like Marvel’s Echo was in development, it was revealed that Charlie Cox AND Vincenzo D’Onofrio would reprise their roles as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, and Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, in the series. Some fans assumed that Daredevil would have a decent role in the series, especially with Kingpin as one of the main characters. But that doesn’t seem to be the case at all.

A new report from insider CWGST explains: “This should go without saying, but DO NOT expect to see much Daredevil in ‘ECHO.’ Daredevil’s role is nothing more than a cameo to show that he and Kingpin were active in the background of the MCU. Make no mistake, this is Maya’s show.

In a previous article, it was said that Daredevil would appear in Echo for three episodes, and he also talked about the appearances of Daredevil and Kingpin on the show, saying: “Daredevil will be present for three episodes, like in Charlie Cox. Kingpin, Vinnie D’Onofrio is four. Kingpin’s storyline is developing with his candidacy for mayor of New York City. Apparently, he’ll be wearing an eyepatch because he got shot in the head in Hawkeye… Daredevil will also be wearing a red and black suit and is looking for Jessica Jones.”

Daredevil may have been more present in the series, but his involvement may have been reduced during the editing process as the creative team was tightening the story. As for Jessica Jones’ involvement in the series, her appearance has reportedly been cancelled.

The five-episode streaming event spotlights Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) as she is pursued by Wilson Fisk’s criminal empire. When her journey brings her home, she must confront her family and her legacy. The series also centers on Lopez as she “struggles to reconnect with her Native American roots while balancing aspirations of a life of crime as the successor to the brutal legacy of Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin.”

All five episodes will release on Disney+ and Hulu on April 9, 2024. You can check out the updates below:
