Federation establishes an international film distribution division with Sabine Chemaly

Federation Studios established an international distribution division for feature films with Sabine Chemaly.

The label will be called Ginger & Fed and has been created in collaboration with Chemaly’s recently established Ginger Films.

Responsible for both film acquisitions and international distribution, Chemaly will lead Ginger & Fed while working closely with the Federation sales team – Monica Levy, Guillaume Pommier, Sarah Zarka, Lucile Avezard and Jeromine Ader – as well as their business, maintenance and marketing team work together. .

Ginger & Fed’s first project will be a post-apocalyptic thriller Survive from Federation outfit Robin & Co and MES Productions. The film with Émilie Dequenne (Love affair(s), Rosetta) and Andreas Pietschmann (Dark), is directed by Frédéric Jardin and KMBO will release it theatrically in France. Sales will be partially handled by WTFfilms. Two comedies, both published in France by Apollo, will soon follow the initial release: Rachel’s gamea police project led by Thierry Klifa, and Old but good by Claude Zidi Jr. (tenor).

The full list of films that will make up Ginger & Fed’s opening slate will be announced at Unifrance’s Rendez-Vous de Paris in January 2024.

Chemaly was head of international sales at TF1 Studio for eleven years. She was responsible for the international distribution of new films and series and was involved among other things Series of (bad) weddingsAnd Call my agent!

The association’s Lionel Uzan described Chemaly as a “perfect addition” to his team.

“Their excellent reputation among both manufacturers and distributors will be of great benefit to the success of our new venture,” he added.

Federation already owns Bonne Pioche, Cheyenne Federation, Monkey Pack (Robin & Co) in France and Vertigo Films in the UK. Getting into film sales has been described as a “natural progression”.
