Marvel Studios is currently trying to figure out what to do with its next launch Daredevil: Born Again series after firing its writers and directors. I’m currently looking for a new creative team to revamp the series.
Less than half of the series’ 18 episodes have been filmed, and while they won’t be starting from scratch, they will be doing a massive overhaul. One of the main aspects of the story that will most likely stick is the story’s main villain, White Tiger, and there are some new details regarding the character that have emerged.
According to CWGST insider, the series will feature multiple versions of White Tigers. The report goes on to point out that there have been three characters in the comics who have taken on the role of White Tiger, and they include Hector Ayala, the first White Tiger; Angela Del Toro, Ettore’s niece and second to wear the mantle of Ava Ayala; and Hector’s sister and the third White Tiger. So maybe two or three of them will be involved.
Some additional story elements regarding the original plot of the series have been previously released and may still be made into the series, so there is a potential spoiler warning.
It was explained that Foggy Nelson would be killed off in the premiere, and at that point, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) would have given up being Daredevil. He wouldn’t even get dressed until halfway through the first season. It was going to be more of a legal procedural drama than a superhero series.
The show’s first major story arc would have been “The Trial of the White Tiger” and would have seen Matt Mudock take on the vigilante as a client after stopping a robbery. As the story unfolds, he discovers that the robbers were actually corrupt cops and when one of them accidentally dies during a scuffle, White Tiger is deemed a “cop killer”.
It is said that “Matt would stalk the surviving cop to find the ‘informant’ as a witness at Hector’s trial. Having found the informant first, Matt would take his place to save them”.
The corrupt cops “are surprised to find Matt waiting for them. But they don’t care that he’s the informant’s lawyer and start beating him… until a gun is pulled and all hell breaks loose. Matt would then notice the Punisher logo tattooed on one of the knocked out cops, setting up the next story arc…”
After all these big changes to the show, I’m curious to see how it turns out. I just hope that whatever the creative team does, they tell a solid story and make a series that at least reaches the high standard set by Netflix’s Daredevil series.
“DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN” will feature MULTIPLE White Tigers.
In the comics there have been 3 bearers of the cape:
