Halle Berry has come on board to star in and produce a new film project titled The processwhich is said to be a psychological thriller which will be directed by Tara Miele. The screenplay was written by Levin Menekse and originally appeared on the blacklist of best unproduced screenplays.
The story follows “a seemingly happily married couple, who attend the weekend seminar of Aiden, a famous self-help guru, and are asked to examine their individual lives, their careers and, ultimately, their marriage , but when Kirsa resists the “trial” of Aiden and his cult of committed volunteers, and Peter agrees, their relationship and sanity are quickly put to the test.
Producers Roberto Kravis AND Karl Hermann of Pioneer Pictures said in a statement: “We are thrilled to work with HalleHolly to bring Levin’s extraordinary screenplay to the screen. Tara’s vision for the film—a Kubrickian psychological thriller that takes us down the rabbit hole of self-help cults, and Halle’s portrayal of the film’s main character, Kirsa—a woman fighting to preserve her marriage and his sanity amidst an oppressive cult of personality will leave audiences breathless.”
The director added: “It’s so rare to find a script like Levin Menekse’s The Process that is compelling, emotionally resonant and feels essential in this moment. I’m thrilled to bring this gem to life and to collaborate with Halle Berry, who brings such a raw and real presence to the screen as an actress and is also an incredibly thoughtful collaborator and expert producer.
It looks like it will be a big project for Berry, who will soon be seen on Netflix The Union opposite to Mark Wahlberg.
