Zack Snyder Announces REBEL MOON Prequel Comic REBEL MOON: HOUSE OF THE BLOODAXE

Zack Snyder has announced its sci-fi action film franchise Rebel moon is getting a prequel comic series from Titan Comics. The comic is titled Wayward Moon: House of Bloodaxeand will launch in January 2024.

Snyder created the story for the comic and the four-issue limited series will be written by Mags Visaggio with art from Clark Bint.

In the story, “As war looms on the horizon on the planet Shasu, the leader of the Bloodaxe family is conflicted between living up to his father’s ruling legacy and maintaining peace. It is up to him to resolve the conflicts within himself and his family, before the entire planet erupts into war.”

The first Rebel Moon film has yet to be released, so we still know very little about this sci-fi franchise that Snyder is building. I would love nothing more than to see all of this end up telling a great, compelling story. We won’t know for sure until the first film releases on December 22nd.

In the film, “When a peaceful colony on the edge of a galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of a tyrannical ruling force, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival. Tasked with finding trained fighters to join her in taking an impossible stand against the Mother World, Kora assembles a small band of warriors: outsiders, rebels, farmers, and war orphans from different worlds who share a common need for redemption and revenge. As the shadow of an entire Kingdom looms across the unlikeliest of moons, a battle is waged for the fate of a galaxy, and in the process, a new army of heroes is raised.

The first Rebel moon the film is called A child of fire and the second film is titled The Scarifierwhich will be released next spring.

Wayward Moon: House of Bloodaxe #1 features the cover of Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, Raphael Albuquerque, Baldemar RivasAND Andrea Olimpieri. The issue will be released on January 10, 2024 by Titan Comics
