Dafne Keen and Nick Frost will star in the high school horror film WHISTLE From the director of THE NUN

Corin Hardythe director of The nun AND London gang, is set to direct a school horror film called Whistle. The film’s cast includes Dafne Keen (Logan), Sophie Nelisse (Yellow jackets), Yang Sky (Rebel moon), Percy Hynes White (Wednesday), AND Nick Frost (Hot fuzz).

In the film, “a misfit group of unwitting high school students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec death whistle. They discover that the whistle and the terrifying sound it makes will summon their future death to hunt them down. As the body count rises, the friends investigate the origins of the deadly artifact in a desperate attempt to stop the horrific chain of events they set in motion.

It sure looks like a fun horror movie! Those Aztec death whistles are crazy! It was only a matter of time before something developed a horror film around it. The film is based on a short story by Owen Egertonwho also wrote the screenplay.

Corin Hardy said in a statement: “The premise of Whistle it’s simple, straightforward, and has a fresh, disturbing mythology. A cursed object that summons your future death to come visit you. The script echoes some of my favorite horror classics like The Ring, A Nightmare On Elm Street, or It Follows, with elements of the seminal high school films The Breakfast Club and Donnie Darko. I am thrilled to be working with this brilliant young cast to bring this creative, terrifying, cinematic new horror to death… I mean life.”

Producer Davide Grosso added: “We couldn’t be happier to be working with Corin Hardy and this incredibly talented cast Whistle – with his ability to combine a strong visual sensibility with atmosphere and emotion and a penchant for relentless, imaginative set pieces, Corin has a proven track record of making horror perfect and we can’t wait to see him bring his unique spin to the script by Owen Egerton.”

The film will begin shooting the first week of November in Ontario, Canada.
