Marvel’s release Deadpool 3 it was delayed. It has been removed from its May 4, 2024 release date, and as of now, no new date has been announced by Marvel Studios or 20th Century Studios.
I think we all knew this was going to happen because of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. The news comes from Deadline, who says, “There’s simply too much to do as far as re-teaming, etc.,” and they wouldn’t be able to finish the film in time even if the strikes ended soon.
There has been a lot of excitement surrounding this movie, especially with all the crazy rumors about the cast that have been spreading. A lot of people just want to see what the hell director Shawn Levy has cooked up for this movie!
Confirmed cast includes Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin like the bad guy, Morena Baccarin AND Stefan Kapicic like Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Leslie Uggam in the role of blind Al. They are united by Brianna Hildebrand AND Shioli Kutsuna will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend, Yukio. This had already been confirmed Jennifer Garner she will return as Elektra in the film.
Alleged casting includes Brian Cox as William Striker, Halle Berry like Storm, Owen Wilson like Mobius, Famke Jensen as Jean Grey, Lewis Tan as Shatterstar, Channing Tatum in the role of Gambetto, Ben Affleck as Daredevil, Taylor Swift as Dazzler, Taron Edgerton like a different Wolverine, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Tara Strong in the role of Miss Minutes, Tom Hiddleston like Loki, Dafne Keen in the role of Laura Howlett alias X23, Rebecca Romijn in the role of Corvo, Julian McMahon as Doctor Doom, Patrick Stewart as Professor Ian McKellen as Magneto. James Marsden he could return to play Cyclops, together with Liev Schreiber like Sabertooth, Daniel Radcliffe as Wolverine, Dafne Keen like X-23 e Channing Tatum like Gambit. Then, of course, there is Taylor Swift.
Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy had noticed this delay and previously stated in an interview: “I don’t even know if we have it officially [a release date]. I know we would have made it to May 3rd. The actors’ strike and the long pause in production certainly put that release date at serious risk. We shot half the film. I edited half the film. We can’t wait to get back to work and release this film next year.”
It looks like we’ll have to be a little more patient as Marvel and Disney continue to figure things out.
