Gkids has announced the impressive English voice cast for Hayao Miyazakithe next anime feature film, The boy and the heron. That cast includes Cristiano Balla, Dave Battista, Gemma Chan, Willem Dafoe, Karen Fukuhara, Marco Hamill, Robert Pattinson AND Florence Pugh.
Bale will play the role of Shoichi Maki, Bautista will play The Parakeet King, Chan will play Natsuko, Dafoe will voice Noble Pelican, Fukuhara will play Lady Himi, Hamill will play Granduncle, Pattinson will play The Gray Heron and Pugh will play Kiriko. Luca Padovan also joined as Mahito Maki. Mamoudou Athie, Tony Revolori AND Dan Stevens they are described as Parakeets.

The film’s official synopsis reads: “Through encounters with his friends and uncle, the story follows the psychological development of a teenager. He enters a magical world with a talking gray heron after finding an abandoned tower in his new town.
The film will premiere in IMAX at the Chinese Theater on Wednesday for opening night of the Animation is Film Festival.
by Studio Ghibli The boy and the heron will land in national cinemas on December 8, in both the original Japanese and English versions. The Studio Ghibli feature will begin with special previews on November 22 before expanding to theaters nationwide and Canada on December 8.
