Prime Video has released a new trailer for Invincible Season 2 and gives us an exciting and intense look at the next chapter of this crazy superhero story. The trailer was released during the Prime Video panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday, and it looks like it’s going to be another great season! Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!
Invincible revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who is just like every other boy his age, except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (JK Simmons). The season 1 finale was crazy as it ended with Omni-Man’s true intentions being revealed.
When you talk about the next season, creator Robert Kirkmann he previously said: “I think we hit the ground running with a lot of chaos. Mark and Debbie are dealing with a huge betrayal from Nolan and his absence on the planet is something that’s affecting them deeply. Mark is in this place where he was on trajectory to become this superhero, and everything seemed to be going really well. Now, he’s been shaken to the core.” But that’s just the beginning of Mark’s problems as Kirkman also teased how Mark needs to assert himself even more against new threats.
He added: “Betrayal aside, he’s also left with the last line of defense on Earth. He’s the man who’s the only one strong enough to actually replace Nolan, so he’s pushed himself further into this world of superheroes that may not be fully prepared, and there is no end to the conflict that is simmering on the planet and attacking it relentlessly.”
Kirkman was also asked about Omni-Man’s return, and said, “The less said about Nolan, I think the better at this point. I’m just saying, I wouldn’t bet on us going through the entire season without seeing him. Probably it will appear when you least expect it and it may appear in ways that you wouldn’t necessarily expect. So, I think I’ve said all I can say.”
The show’s creator also previously spoke about his overall goals for the series and in the meantime revealed the planned number of seasons he wants to make for the show to tell its story. He explained: “I’m trying not to reduce it to a number, because it’s kind of a moving target. I think seven to eight seasons seems to be enough. But there may be some things that we advance a little faster, some things that we expand. If we’re lucky enough to last long, I think it would be enough to cover the entire comic. And there are some things along the way that didn’t make it into the comic that I’d like to do. I think it would be nice to have a few episodes here and there that are completely original. So that’s part of the plan moving forward.
The series is also the protagonist Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Gillian Jacobs, Zechariah Quintus, Jason Mantzoukas, Melise, Marco Hamill, Mahershala Ali, Seth Rogenand more.
The first half of the eight-episode season will premiere on November 3, with new episodes airing weekly. After a mid-season hiatus, the second half of season two will premiere in early 2024 on Prime Video.
