A24 has released the first trailer for the upcoming wrestling biopic The Iron Claw, which tells the dramatic and tragic story of the Von Erich brothers’ wrestling dynasty. This looks like it’s going to be a great movie!
Movie stars Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris DickinsonAND Holt McCallany. The film follows “the rise and fall of the family wrestling dynasty that has had a huge impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day.” While the brothers had to fight inside the ring, outside they faced a series of tragedies that became known as the “Von Erich curse”.
In the film, Efron plays Kevin Von Erich, White plays Kerry Von Erich, Dickinson plays David Von Erich and McCallany plays Fritz Von Erich.
The film was written and directed by Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and is also the protagonist Lily James (Downton Abbey, yesterday, Pam and Tommy) as Kevin ‘s wife, Pam, and Maura Tierney as the family matriarch Doris.
A24 will release the film on December 22.
