Trailer for GEORGE A. ROMERO’s RESIDENT EVIL documentary explores why his project never came to fruition

I have a new trailer to share with you for the upcoming documentary Resident Evil by George A. Romero. The film focuses on Romero’s attempt to make a film adaptation of the hit video game Resident Evil and why it collapsed.

Romero pitched his film Resident Evil in 1998 to Constantin Films, and it seems there were many reasons why the project didn’t get made. The document comes from the director Brandon Salisbury and aims to “immerse audiences in a cinematic horror aesthetic”.

The film will pay homage to Romero’s style and the game itself. It also takes place in a mansion that will resemble Resident Evil’s Spencer Mansion and will be shot to mimic Romero’s cinematic style.

Romero’s original script for the film was leaked online and remained relatively close to the source material. It seems like it would have been really cool to see Romero actually pull it off. Unfortunately, Capcom didn’t like the script due to its violent content. It will be an interesting documentary!

Check out the new trailer below and let us know your thoughts.
