Fantasy Flight Games reveals more information about STAR WARS: UNLIMITED TCG

Earlier this year, Fantasy Flight Games announced something new Star Wars collectible card game called Star Wars: Unlimited. Some additional details have since emerged, including the official quickstart rules! Most recently, the team revealed a new teaser trailer for the game which will launch next year on March 8, 2024. In the trailer we get a look at some of the cards.

Additionally, Fantasy Flight Games and Asmodee have released a full product line and card breakdown for the upcoming Booster Packs on the official website. I’ll do my best to give you a quick summary of what you can expect. The first set for Star Wars: Unlimited will be called Spark of rebellion and there are four main types of products that will be released.

To start, you have your traditional Booster Packs (although these will have 16 cards!) with a mix of Common, Uncommon, Rare/Legendary, leader, base and a foil cards. Each display will contain 24 Booster Packs. You can expect each pack to retail for $4.99. It’s important to note that any card in the set can be foil, regardless of rarity. Additionally, any card has the ability to be a Hyperspace variant that has a different frame that shows off a bit more of the art. If that’s not enough, leaders have the option to come in a Showcase variant with alternate graphics, alternate frame, and special treatment. The probabilities for this type of thing can be found below:

  • Foil paper = 1 in each pack

  • Legendary = ~1 in 8 packs

  • Hyperspace = ~2 in 3 packs

  • Hyperspace Rare/Legendary = ~1 in 15 packs

  • Showcase = ~1 in 12 boxes

There will also be a two-player Starter that includes two pre-constructed decks (50 cards each) designed to get you and a friend playing right away. You will also receive damage tokens, paper mats, and folded deck cases. As an added bonus, there are 10 cards in the decks that are not available in the Spark of Rebellion expansion packs. This will retail for $34.99.

If you’re really enthusiastic Star Wars: Unlimited and you live somewhere with a game store that participates in events, you can pick up a Prerelease Box. This box will set you back $29.99 and includes 6 Sparks of Rebellion booster packs, 2 promo cards, rules, damage counters, a deck building guide, and a deckbox. This is designed for prerelease tournaments hosted by your local game store as a starting point.

The final type of product for Star Wars: Unlimited they are the casual gaming kits. These are various kits that stores can get to help run organized play events. They have prize packs, a kit to use to make sure anyone can play at events, etc.

This isn’t the first time this has happened Star Wars got a TCG and it probably won’t be the last. What do you think though? He does Star Wars: Unlimited do you have your attention?
