Here’s a funny news story from 1993 that’s sure to make you laugh. It features reporter Jamie Costello of WMAR-2 News in Baltimore getting reactions from Burger King customers who were told the fast food restaurant would accept credit cards. Many people thought it was crazy at the time! One person said:
“I think it’s pretty bad if you have to use a credit card when you go to a fast food restaurant for something as little as three dollars and ten cents.”
But there were a few who were fine with it:
“If I use my GM card I get a 5% discount. I think if I eat here long enough I can buy a pickup truck.
This is 90s retro gold! It’s pretty crazy that the thought of using a credit card at a fast food restaurant was too crazy a concept for some people. One guy even said that he can’t imagine it working on a daily basis. Oh, how times have changed.
