We’re getting a new Lord of the Rings video game from Wētā Workshop, the New Zealand special effects and props company that worked on Peter Jackson’S Lord of the Rings trilogy of films, and is published by Private Division.
The game is called Tales of the Shire and it’s a “cozy” and “moving” Lord of the Rings game. Most Lord of the Rings games are epic, battle-heavy games, but this… this will allow players to live their most welcoming and relaxing Hobbit life.
“Your cozy Hobbit life awaits in Tales of the Shire, a heartwarming new Lord of the Rings game from Wētā Workshop and Private Division.”
The teaser trailer features a painting of the Hobbit in a diary and humming a little tune. Yes, it will be a pretty relaxing game with all the vibes of the Hobbit lifestyle, and you know what? I’m inside.
The game will be released on PC and consoles in 2024.
