This week’s retro trailer is for the 1995 horror film Night train to terror! The film focuses on a train headed to Hell and God and Satan decide the fate of three unfortunate mortals.
The film is made up of a trio of chilling tales linked by a plot set aboard a night train. On board this train, two omnipotent beings, God and Satan, discuss the fate of the souls on board, weighing their virtues and their sins. They watch over three separate stories, analyzing human nature, morality and the eternal struggle between good and evil.
Stories include the case of a mad cult, a cautionary tale about the dangers of technological advances gone awry, and a narrative involving a deadly game of chance. “In ‘Harry,’ a diabolical killer keeps the horribly mutilated body parts of his countless victims in a diabolical torture chamber. In “Gretta,” a young woman, haunted by death, takes part in an unspeakable Russian roulette ritual. Finally in “Claire,” a young woman and a middle-aged Holocaust survivor are terrorized by the son of Satan!”
The film’s stories unfold in a disjointed manner and are interspersed with a synth-rock musical performance by a band, which is really strange! The disjointed nature of the film comes from the fact that the segments were originally intended to be stand-alone feature films, but were heavily edited for inclusion in this anthology. The resulting product is a quirky patchwork of horror elements, music and philosophical musings on the nature of good and evil.
I have two trailers for you to watch below and I hope you enjoy!
