STAR WARS: AHSOKA Season 2 Reportedly Began Development Before Strikes Arrived

Earlier this week, the fifth episode of Star Wars: Ahsoka dropped and was hailed by fans as one of the best episodes so far. We have two episodes left in this first season, and they will certainly be exciting and eventful chapters that will conclude the season.

Well, it looks like this won’t be the only season of Ahsoka. According to entertainment insider Daniel RPK, the story will continue with a second season. It was reported that season 2 was greenlit and that work on the project had already begun amid the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.

I guess this shouldn’t be a surprise given that the story of the first season leads to Ahsoka finding Thrawn and Ezra. Once this happens, a completely new story will begin that will be told over the course of the second season.

Episode 5, “Shadow Warrior”, ended with Ahsoka and Huyang traveling to an unknown destination in the mouth of a giant interdimensional space whale known as Purrgil. They hope that the whales will lead them to their long-lost friend Ezra Bridger and prevent the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who will wage another war against the rebels.

It’ll be interesting to see how things play out over the next couple of episodes, but it’s nice to know that the story will continue after that.

Rosario Dawson plays Ahsoka and she is joined Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead like Hera Syndulla, the deceased Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant like Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoniwho is also executive producer Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin WilsonAND Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, AND Rick Famuyiwa.
