Netflix officially renews ONE PIECE for season 2!

With live action A piece being a very successful series with audiences, we all knew that Netflix would renew the show for a second season. Well, now it’s official! Netflix made the announcement on social media with a funny video and a caption that reads: “BEWARE OF THE STRAW HAT TEAM. ONE PIECE HAS BEEN RENEWED!!!”

I couldn’t be happier about this! I have nothing but great and positive things to say about this show, and the creative team recently said that they will easily have six seasons of story to tell, but they’re also hoping to get to 12! There is so much story to tell with these characters because there is so much story in the source material!

Executive producer Marty Adelstein previously said that the scripts for the second season were already finished. Becky Clements added that a second season could be ready “a year and 18 months” from now. Of course it all depends on the actors’ strike.

A piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy (Inaki Godoy) and his pirate crew as they explore a fantasy world of endless oceans and exotic islands in search of the world’s greatest treasure known as “One Piece” to become the next Pirate King. Other main characters include Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson) and Sanji (Taz Skylar).

Steven Maeda is co-writer, showrunner and executive producer of the series along with Matt Owens, who also serves as co-writer and executive producer. The series is also the protagonist Morgan Davis (Dead Evil) in the role of Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino (The sexual life of university students) like Alvida, Aidan Scott (Action point) like Helmeppo, Jeff Ward (Tricks) as Buggy, McKinley Belcher III (Ozarks) as Arlong, and Vincenzo Regan (Troy) like Garp.

The 10-episode series comes from Tomorrow Studios and One Piece publisher Shueisha.
