Iconic Italian horror director Darius Silver is the subject of a new documentary film titled Dario Argento Panicand the first trailer was released ahead of its premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
I remember seeing Suspiria by Argento for the first time, that was the film that got me into classic Italian horror cinema. After that, I took a deep dive and watched all kinds of movies and continued to explore Argento’s movies as well. That guy is a nut when it comes to the movies he’s made. Especially older movies than him.
The documentary is described as “a deep and immersive dive into Argento’s life and creative process and features exclusive interviews with the legendary filmmaker and insights from other acclaimed directors such as Gaspar Noé, Guillermo del Toro AND Nicolas Winding Ref about its impact on the horror genre and generations of other filmmakers.”
The document was directed by Simone Scafidi, and focuses on Argento as he finishes writing the script for his latest feature film in a hotel while a film crew shoots a film about him. Check out the teaser and you can now watch the document on SCREAMBOX.
