Return to Phandalin in D&D with PHANDELVER AND BELOW: THE SHATTERED OBELISK

The Lost Mines of Phandelver is a simple and introductory adventure that many Dungeons & Dragons players have become familiar. Was part of Initial set, and it’s really a lot of fun to play. Now, D&D he wants to go back to that story and expand on it Phandelver and below: the broken obelisk. This is a new campaign book out September 19 (pre-orders now active) for everyone D&D fans of having fun.

A growing settlement for trading and prospecting, Phandalin is a sleepy village in the northern Sword Coast region. Unbeknownst to all, something horrific lurks in the darkness below and threatens all of Phandalin. Left unchecked, this menace could consume all of Faerûn. It’s up to the characters to save the day!

The idea behind Phandelver and below is that it begins with the same adventure as The Lost Mines of Phandelver, but then expands into a much larger story filled with horror elements. The entire campaign is designed to take a group of adventurers from level one to level twelve. The team says the new campaign offers a new vision of the city of Phandalin, higher stakes, and a journey to the Underdark.

In Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk, players are immersed in a story that becomes increasingly strange and disturbing as the adventure progresses. Once the nature of the threat to Phandalin becomes clear, the characters must race against time to save this beloved city from classic D&D villains given a terrifying new twist.

Bree HeissArt Director, added some insight into how things have changed a bit:

Corruption not only appears in the characters and locations of the story, it’s also part of how they change the art and visual design of the book. We wanted to create an immersive and thoughtful experience for players that is as visually compelling as the story is emotional.

In addition to the campaign, you will find 20 new creatures within the pages of Phandelver and below. There is also a magical appendage with new consumable metamagic items and duergar magic.
