Upstream Arcade and Good Shepherd Entertainment have shared a new trailer for the Hellboy video game Wyrd’s Hellboy Network. They also announced that the game will release on October 4th, just in time for Halloween.
This game looks great and offers fans an original story created in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics and the creator of Hellboy Mike Mignolaand the visual style of the project was created in the artist’s characteristic style. I think I’m more excited about this game than the new movie that’s in development.
The story sees Hellboy embarking “on a series of very different and entirely unique adventures” all related to the mysterious Butterfly House.
Built in 1962 by the occultist Pasquale Deneveaux, the Butterfly House is actually a passage to a terrible and fascinating dimension called The Wyrd. A BPRD agent sent on a reconnaissance mission to the mansion and promptly disappears. It’s up to you as Hellboy, along with your team of Bureau agents, to find your missing colleague and uncover the secrets of the Butterfly House.
As you investigate, you’ll explore the wondrous and strange planes of existence contained within the Wyrd, each home to powerful monsters, forgotten god-forms, magnificent treasures, and mighty secrets. But beware, for an ancient evil lurks in the furthest reaches of the Wyrd… an evil that is dying to be unleashed.
I am excited about this game and it will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The late Lance Reddick he also provides the voice of Hellboy.
