Gravitas Ventures has released a trailer for a creepy looking horror film titled Thirst. The film is set in a small town where insomnia begins to spread and causes fear and chaos. I remember one time when for some reason I couldn’t sleep and it lasted almost two weeks, that experience was just insane and I felt like I was going completely crazy.
In the film, “Insomnia-induced psychosis sweeps through a small town, leading friends to find refuge on an unused ranch in the countryside. When the others find out about the ranch a battle for ownership ensues and chaos ensues.
The film was directed by Eric Owenwho said, “What if something you need to live is slowly killing you? This is my biggest fear and I had to bring it to the screen. I suffer from insomnia and often wondered if you could make a movie where the ‘insomnia is rampant’. in a small town. I also fear not having clean drinking water (always having a canteen by my side), something we take for granted in much of the developed world. But as the western United States runs out of water and the city of Austin has received three boiling-water alerts in recent years (the latest of which occurred on the very last day of production), the shortage of clean water has become far too real…”
Owen, who is making his directorial debut, was inspired to write this screenplay when he thought, “What if it’s water that’s causing us insomnia and we don’t know it?” and that put me on the road to writing Thirst.”
The film is the protagonist Brian Villalobos, Michael Gmur, Scotty Walker, Cynthia Fray, Lori KovacevichAND Federica Estaba Rangel. Gravitas will be released Thirst direct-to-VOD in the US starting September 5, 2023.
