Neon has released a new trailer for an incredibly scary new horror thriller Lives inside. The film comes from the first-time director Bishal Duttaand it looks like it will deliver a great and creepy horror story!
The film premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival where it won the Midnight Audience Award. I’ve heard from people who’ve seen it that it’s an extremely well-crafted terrifying film that horror fans will love. So, can’t wait to see it! This could be the indie horror film’s next big hit.
In Lives inside, “Sam is desperate to integrate into school, rejecting his Indian culture and family to be like everyone else. When a mythological demon spirit attaches itself to her former best friend, he must come to grips with her heritage in order to defeat her.
The director was inspired to make this film based on his childhood experience, having been born in India before emigrating and growing up in America. The story is heavily inspired by both Indian demonic legend and a very personal family story of Dutta’s grandfather. The original screenplay was written by Dutta based on a story by Dutta e Ashish Mehta.
The movie stars Megan Suri (Missing), Neeru Bajwa (Jatt and Juliet 1 and 2), Mohana Krishnan, Vik Sahay (Captain Marvel, Chuck) AND Betty Gabriel (Go out).
Lives inside will be released in select theaters on September 22.
