If you’re a fan of 80’s slasher horror movies, I have a trailer here that you might be interested in checking out. The film is called Last summerand is a throwback summer camp slasher that sees a group of camp counselors find themselves struggling to survive while a masked killer is on the loose.
Although the film is inspired by 1980s slasher films, the story is set in the 1990s. The synopsis of the film reads:
Fast forward to 1991, after a long summer of fun and games at Camp Silverlake in the woods, where the organizers are preparing to close the camp after the final season before it is sold off to the developers. But there is something – or someone – waiting in the dark to exact bloody revenge on the unsuspecting campers. Who is the masked menace and what does he want? Heat turns to horror in Final Summer: old-school horror that’s endlessly funny, with buckets of gore, scares, and no shortage of grisly murders.
The film looks just like your regular formulaic slasher movie. It doesn’t sound like there’s anything unique or interesting about it, but the trailer doesn’t offer many story details. Perhaps there is more to it than meets the eye. The trailer basically delivers a scary campfire story about the killer’s past.
The film was written and directed by John Isberg, who is making his directorial debut. He is the protagonist Thom Matthews, Bishop Stevens, Carl Bailey, Seth Boyer, Nora Yates, Jace JamisonAND Jessica Kadish.
Final Summer will debut on VOD in the UK from September this autumn. It is not known when it will be released in the United States.
