I have here a strange trailer for you to see today for an upcoming neo-realist film titled Cave. The film is said to mix “a verité shooting style with a fantastic mythical world of creatures – representing the inner world of the characters”.
In the film, “A cyclops strangles a man and then chases a princess through a forest. In a progressive theater workshop outside Florence, students Giorgia and Lorenzo stage their childhood dreams and traumas, while the teacher Alba pushes them to confront their inner myth. Giorgia and Lorenzo are psychically intertwined”.
As you’ll see in the trailer, things get pretty surreal and I’m not sure exactly what’s going on, but the Cyclops is interesting. Caverna is co-directed by Daniel Contaldo and Hannah Swayze, both in their feature film directorial debuts. The film is the protagonist Giorgia Tomasi, Lorenzo Passaniti, Catarina Fornaciai, AND Fabio Welcome.
Good deed Ent. will debut Caverna direct-to-VOD in the United States on August 15, 2023.
